Hundreds of medical workers gathered outside of the Presidential Palace on Chilean President Sebastian Piñera’s birthday, demanding an expanded budget for the health sector to deal with the pandemic. They also demanded the resignation of Health Minister Enrique Paris, who has been deemed insufficient in his aid to contain the COVID pandemic.

Right-wing groups held an anti-LGBTQ+ event in Toulouse on the 10th of October, which was met with strong opposition from a queer anarchist bloc. Police protected the right-wing march and tear-gassed the anarchists a total of 3 times, but eventually, the counter-protest managed to push back the march.
50,000 protesters gathered at the Alameda, demonstrating against the Piñera presidency and demanding the resignation of the government. Many ensuing clashes occurred, with chemically-tainted water cannons deployed against the demonstrators. Despite not arriving at the presidential palace, protesters remained undeterred and stayed beyond nightfall.
