Thousands of Protesters in Santiago March on International Women’s Day

Tens of thousands of women took to the streets of Santiago on International Women’s Day, protesting against government incompetence in curbing a rise in femicides as well as to demand safe and free abortions in Chile. Police attacked the demonstrators with tear gas and water cannons, who fought back with barricades and rocks.
