Hundreds of protesters took to the streets across Medellín against the regime of Ivan Duque Marquez and the Tributary Reform, which places taxes on basic goods and services for the lower class of Colombia. Police attacked the demonstrators, resulting in their dispersal and the torching of several tolls accused of having ridiculous prices.
Over 20,000 Palestinian citizens of Israel took to the streets of Umm al-Fahm in opposition to discriminatory police brutality against the Arab community, following the IDF’s crackdown on a peaceful demonstration which resulted in 35 injuries, which included the city’s mayor.
Women demonstrated in Diyarbakir after the murder of Melek Aslan, murdered by her brother, whose case anarchists and other activists say will not be received with a fair trial. After the protest, the government stated that they will look further into the case and make the prosecution stronger.
Hundreds of students gathered in Chania to oppose a new law proposed by the right-wing New Democracy government, which would set a limit on the time a student can take to finish a degree and also reinstall police officers inside university campuses across Greece.
Around 1500-2000 demonstrators in Thessaloniki took to the streets in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike, demanding the government accept his request to be returned to his old cell at the Korydallos prison in Athens where he will be able to see visitors again.
