Dozens of protesters in Antofagasta gathered to demand the release of all political prisoners of the 18th of October Uprising in Chile, which sparked a massive protest movement still going strong almost a year and a half after. Protesters placed barricades, in response to which police brutally cracked down and used water cannons.
Protesters gathered in Orlando following the police murder of two black teenagers, who were driving a car that police profiled as stolen, which it was not. The parents of the two children held a protest on the 18th, drawing more than 200 people. The families have hired famous civil rights attorney Ben Crump, but they fear that a legal challenge alone may not give them justice.
