Hundreds in Tunis Demanding Freedom for Arrested Protesters Clash With Police

Anti-government protesters in Tunis gathered at Human Rights Plaza to demand the release of imprisoned youth and activists during the new spring of demonstrations, marching to the city center and confronting a line of riot cops who blocked them from advancing.

Protesters in response threw paint bombs, drenching the police, and smoking marijuana in front of them in defiance of the country’s outlawing of the drug.
