Anarchists Organize Banner Drops Across Thessaloniki

The Libertarian Initiative of Thessaloniki organized banner drops in 3 locations; the center of the city, in the Xirokrini neighborhood, and Toumpa, a village in the central Macedonian regional unit of Serres. Anarchists call for a larger stimulus, the end of anti-protest restrictions under the guise of quarantine, and the end of union-busting during coronavirus restrictions.

Indian Communists in Bihar Burn Copies of Anti-Farmer Legislation

Protesters gathered in the District of Bihar against the anti-farmer law proposed by the Indian government that caused massive demonstrations and a March to Delhi campaign nationwide. Anti-government activists burnt copies of the law, with a few also making stick figures made of the paper copies and burning them at the stake.

UC Berkeley Students Tear Down Fence at People’s Park

The University of California in Berkeley put up a fence around the People’s Park, which was founded by radical activists in the 1960s and inhabited by a houseless camp; in response, students protested at the site and tore down the fence, moving it to the university’s entrance in a statement to the administration that any attempt to restrict access to the area would not be tolerated by the community.

Santiago Protests at Plaza de Armas Demanding Amnesty for Political Prisoners

Hundreds of protesters gathered in front of the cathedral in Santiago at the Plaza de Armas, demanding amnesty for all political prisoners of the 18th of October Uprising. Many family members of those caged for months in isolation for rising up against the state were also present and gave speeches to protesters and the press.

FENATS Medical Workers’ Union Protests in Concepción for Raises and Infrastructure

Hundreds of members of the FENATS medical workers’ union protested in the central city of Concepción to demand a higher budget for the health sector to combat COVID-19, including more infrastructure and raises for on-the-ground nurses and doctors. Many in the crowd also called for amnesty for political prisoners and the resignation of Piñera.
