Dozens of Athenians gathered in the area of Pedion Areos & Kypseli to protest in solidarity with migrants in Greece, marching to the front of the Turkish embassy to protest against the Erdogan regime’s involvement in war in Syria causing economic hardship for millions who have fled the country to countries as far away as Germany.
Hundreds of protesters in Asunción returned to the streets for a 4th consecutive day to demand the resignation of President Marito Abdo, following the collapse of the healthcare system in Paraguay after $1.6 billion mysteriously disappeared, so severe that elective surgeries, including appendix removals, were suspended, and medicine remained at a critical low. Police attacked protesters, forcing them to disperse with tear gas and water cannons.
Essential immigrant workers and their families marched to Times Square in New York to demand personal protective equipment (PPE) at all workplaces as well as a decent raise to $15 per hour or higher. Demonstrators carried white crosses to let everyone know that the group wasn’t complete, holding Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio responsible for lack of precautions.
