Medical Workers from the Barros Luco Hospital in Santiago went on strike for more funds to handle the COVID-19 pandemic, and improvements in medical infrastructure. They also demanded freedom for the political prisoners during the October uprising, that has now been ongoing for longer than a year.

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Santiago in support of the political prisoners of the 2019 uprising in Chile, as well as anarchist and Mapuche insurgents. Demonstrators chased off police in Plaza Dignidad, who then returned and used water cannons and tear gas on the peaceful crowd.
200 protesters marched on Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s house from 6th & Irving, demanding he rejects offers of becoming Secretary of Transportation under President-elect Joe Biden. Demonstrations continue as Biden comes close to picking his cabinet, with a name expected in a few days.
Protesters in Britain, the United States, Canada, and Italy turned out in almost a dozen cities, including Toronto, Baltimore, Raleigh, New York, Nashville, Houston, Glasgow, and Napoli. Attendance ranged from the dozens to the thousands, with protests taking up large swaths of city squares.
