Thousands of antifascists gathered in Marseille in opposition to the Global Security Law, marching through the neighborhood of Zineb and passing through the Regional Council building before dispersing at the Port of Vieux with clashes occurring between protesters and police and tear gas deployed around the Canebière police station. Demonstrators chanted “Everyone hates the police!” [“Tout, le monde, deteste la police!”] and other anti-cop slogans.
Several protesters were killed in Islamabad after Pakistani police opened fire on striking government workers with expired tear gas bought from India. Many died in hospitals after the thousands pouring in caused a critical lack of oxygen and basic first aid for those injured by the expired tear gas which causes much more combustion and harm to the lungs.

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets in Niamey, the capital of Niger, after a close election led to both candidates claiming victory in the first democratic election since independence in the poorest country in the world due to French interference with coups. Demonstrators in support of opposition candidate Mahame Ousmane gathered in front of a police station but were dispersed by police who fired tear gas.
Strong clashes occurred in the town of Cañete during a demonstration in support of Mapuche political prisoner Oscar Pilquiman, an indigenous activist framed for a robbery in 2019. Police attacked the crowd with water cannons and tear gas, while protesters returned the favor with Molotov cocktails.
