Artisanal fishers across Chile took to the streets to demand state aid and subsidization for their sector of work, made up of mostly indigenous families whose minimum wage stands at around $389 USD. Demonstrators burned tires and blocked roads, causing as much disruption as possible to force a concession of their demands.

Dozens of protesters gathered in front of the Jackson County Courthouse in Kansas City, shutting down its entrances in order to directly delay eviction hearings during the moratorium that will last until mid-February. Around 150 eviction hearings were delayed or cancelled for the day, in a massive victory for the KC Tenants’ Union.

Around 1000 protesters in Bristol returned to the streets in opposition to a law that would expand police powers, restrict the right to protest, and also criminalize a nomadic lifestyle. Police brutally attacked the protesters, injuring many and deploying horses and dogs against the peaceful demonstrators.
