Protesters in Israel took to the streets across the country 170,000-strong for an 18th week in a row against Netanyahu and his corrupt record. Dozens across Sudan protested for a 4th day in opposition to the government’s removal of petrol and fuel subsidies, whose new prices for consumers more than doubled. Demonstrators blocked roads across the country and lit barricades, pressuring the government to act on their demands.
Florists gathered in Santiago to protest the forced closure of their businesses without a stimulus, and condemned the closures of “non-essential” businesses included their own while casinos and other recreational centers stayed open. The Carabineros of Chile, the national police force, proceeded to arrive at the scene with riot gear and assault the demonstrators, injuring 5.
Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Bangkok in opposition to the monarchy of Thailand and Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, a general who assumed office in the 2014 coup d’état. During clashes in which police carried out severe repression, demonstrators returned the favor with fireworks and set a police van on fire.
