Police in Greece attacked students occupying the Rector’s Office at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, demanding the repeal of the law allowing police on university campuses. Dozens of brutal arrests were made, in response to which hundreds of demonstrators marched to the rectorate and then to the Thessaloniki Police Headquarters where the arrested students were being held.
Demonstrations began in the New Mexico city shortly after the Breonna Taylor grand jury announcement.
The Golden Dawn, a Greek neo-Nazi organization and former party, was on trial on the 7th of October for several terror attacks against antifascists. Clashes occurred between police and protesters, with police eventually being pushed back from their zone of attack by several hundred anarchists. The largest rally had an attendance of over 50,000 people in front of Parliament.
