Protesters in Brownsville protested against the North Brooklyn Fracked Gas Pipeline in New York, with dozens of people attending demanding the halting of the development of the pipeline that could pollute poorer and black-majority areas of the city.
Anarchists in Thessaloniki gathered to protest in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas, a former member of the 17 November revolutionary group who went on hunger strike starting on the 8th of January, demanding his transfer to the Korydallos prison in Athens which would allow him to see visitors and receive adequate medical treatment. Over 100 protesters gathered in Montreal to demand the end of curfew during the pandemic, calling for a solution to the crisis not involving police. Many involved in the march made it clear that they were pro-science, pro-mask, and pro-vaccine, but that using police to raid people’s homes and ensure that they were following quarantine is tyrannical.
Ove 300 bikers sat-in El Parrón, demonstrating against a lack of regulations against drivers when driving near bikers, dozens of whom have been killed in recent weeks. Protesters joined the national bikers’ strike going on to pressure the government to change its measures and attitude towards the situation.
