Protests Across Iraq Against Al-Kadhimi

Demonstrations occurred across Iraq against the administration of Mustafa Al-Kadhimi (Al-Kazemi), against whom outrage has been widespread for opening fire and killing 7 civilians in Baghdad during a demonstration earlier in October. It is estimated that at least 10,000 people took part in these protests.

Students blockaded several roads in response to the decision, including the Balboa and Cinco De Mayo avenues. Police responded by opening fire with rubber bullets and arresting several students, taking them to a police station, and later releasing them without torturing them in any form.

Protesters Clash With Militarized Police in Santiago

Despite heavy levels of militarized police at the Alameda and the University of Chile, thousands of protesters poured into the streets of Santiago demanding the resignation of Chilean President Sebastian Piñera. Clashes continued through the night, as the last protesters dispersed around 10:00 P.M.
