Protesters across Chile took to the streets calling for the freedom of political prisoners that have been put in jail by the state, some since the start of the October Rebellion, from Valparaiso to Santiago. Many banner drops also occurred in smaller cities, that would have had a smaller protest population.
Dozens of people gathered in Santiago to coordinate a protest for the release of political prisoners of the 18th of October Uprising, when a fascist identifying with the Popular Socialist Vanguard shot rubber bullets at the demonstrators along the Ahumada, injuring several. When the crowd began to attack him, police stepped in to defend the fascist, stopping the crowd from getting to him. The march then proceeded to the Forest Park in the center of the city and was met with extreme violence by the Carabineros who immediately deployed armored vehicles.
Dozens of protesters in Valparaiso gathered for a demonstration demanding justice for Francisco Martinez, a Panguipulli street juggler murdered by police. Chilean law enforcement, known as Carabineros, cracked down on the protest, using chemical weapons including tear gas and water cannons.
Protesters demonstrated against pro-police billboards set up across the city by Portland Police Bureau affiliates, and destroyed a few. No major clashes with police occurred.
Thousands of protesters across Chile returned to the streets of multiple cities in support of the political prisoners of the social war, including anarchists, Mapuche insurgents, and participants in the 2019 uprising. Police attacked the demonstrations occurring, causing intense clashes in several locations.
