Dozens of protesters gathered in Portland on the anniversary of the public execution of 38 Dakota men in Mankato by the Lincoln administration in 1862, condemning the largest one-day mass execution in American history. Demonstrators gave speeches at a small monument to Thomas Jefferson before dispersing.

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Northeast Portland at Peninsula Park in solidarity with Kenosha, following the District Attorney decision not to charge the officer who shot Jacob Blake 7 times in the back as his kids watched. 2 arrests were made for “trespassing” including 1 member of the press, as Portland Police cleared the area to put out a dumpster fire.
Hundreds of women in Valdivia marched on International Women’s Day, condemning the incompetence of the government of Chile in stopping a rise in femicides as well as demanding safe and free abortion for all women without exceptions.
Thousands of protesters in Athens marched following police repression against students at the Thessaloniki Aristotle University, demanding the repeal of a law passed by the Ministry of Education allowing police to return to campus for the first time in decades. Demonstrators marched to Parliament, although avoiding clashes that had previously occurred in student demonstrations against the same law.
Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of the Viña del Mar city in the Valparaiso metropolis on International Women’s Day, against government incompetence in combatting a rise in femicides as well as to demand safe and free abortions in all of Chile.
