Thousands of Peruvian farmers and farm workers went on strike for better wages and blockaded the Panamerican Highway, a key trading road. They state that salaries for farmers in Peru are unsurvivable and that the state must do more to help, with strikers marching from Ica.
Hundreds of protesters gathered in the small town of Armenia, demanding the immediate withdrawal of the privatization of hospitals/healthcare and the Tributary Reform in Colombia, which would increase taxes on basic goods and services.
