Indigenous Wampanoag people and their allies gathered in Plymouth, Massachusetts, for the 50th annual National Day of Mourning march against Thanksgiving. Protesters did not clash with police, and the demonstration dispersed peacefully after the march ended.
Hundreds of members of the Electrical Industry and Irrigation Workers Union (UTIER) took to the streets of San Juan against the privatization of electricity in Puerto Rico. The Luma corporation would assume the responsibility of power on the American island colony if privatization went through successfully.
Around 150 protesters in Portland marched to demand justice for Patrick Kimmons, a victim of police brutality in 2018 whose case was reopened. Demonstrators sang chants against police, prisons, and capitalism as Kimmons’ mother led the march demanding due process for her son.
Hundreds of protesters in Oakland took to the streets to demand justice for Daunte Wright and Adam Toledo, both recent victims of police murder in the United States. Several car dealerships and large corporations were attacked, with a car being set on fire and government buildings being smashed up.
Dozens of feminists gathered in front of the National Congress in Valparaiso, demanding the legalization and universalization of safe abortions for all women in Chile. Confrontations with a conservative priest occurred, as well as with the Carabineros escorting im away from the scene.
