Thousands demonstrated in the French cities of Quimper and Toulouse against the global security law banning the filming of police, which has led to nationwide unrest. Toulouisian protesters clashed with police, who deployed tear gas canisters and water cannons to disperse the demonstration.
Protesters gathered in Concepción to demand amnesty for all political prisoners of the 18th of October Uprising, marching at the Tribunals of Justice to pressure the government to halt the isolation of many prisoners, including minors, for months under the guise of the coronavirus pandemic.
Anarchists in Bern dropped a banner in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike outside of the Greek consulate in Switzerland, also throwing several firecrackers at the ambassador’s home to demand the immediate satisfaction of the former 17 November member’s request to be returned to the Korydallos prison.
Demonstrations continue in Thai cities since the surge of protests after the banning of assembly on the 16th. A pro-democracy rally in Bangkok turned out more than 100,000 protesters that seek the downfall of the monarchy and the existing government.
Around 600 protesters in Patras took to the streets demanding the repeal of a law passed by the Ministry of Education in Greece, which would allow police to re-enter universities for the first extended period since the fall of the military dictatorship following a disastrous war and student uprising in 1973-1974.
