Around 600-700 protesters in Thessaloniki marched in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike, marching from the Statue of Venizelos to the city’s beach, demanding the immediate government satisfaction of the former 17 November member’s request to be transferred back to his old cell in the Korydallos prison.

Thousands of protesters in Manizales gathered on the 4th day of demonstrations against the privatization of hospitals and the increase in taxes on basic goods and services in Colombia. Protesters knocked down the status of conservative fascist politician Gilberto Alzate Avendaño, before being attacked and tear-gassed by police, thinning out the crowd and starting clashes across the city.
Hundreds of protesters marched in Girona to demand the release of Pablo Hasel, a left-wing Catalan rapper arrested and facing charges for criticizing the Bourbon royal family of Spain. Demonstrators carried a banner reading “Chess and checkmate to the regime!” and blocked several roads before dispersing peacefully.
Protesters took to the streets on the 13th of October to push for the abolition of ICE and its subsidiaries, with many confrontations occurring between police, DHS, and protesters. About 25 people attended the protest, 7 of which were press.
Hundreds of women in Valdivia marched on International Women’s Day, condemning the incompetence of the government of Chile in stopping a rise in femicides as well as demanding safe and free abortion for all women without exceptions.
