Protesters in Los Angeles gathered for day 8 of the #BlockGarcetti movement to stop the mayor from becoming Secretary of Transportation. They condemned the usage of a COVID testing center that was closed down to film a movie, which displaced the appointments of more than 550 people.
Someone wearing a Grinch costume also made an appearance there, and the LAPD soon put on riot gear, inciting chants of “Why are you in riot gear? I don’t see no riot here!”
Dozens of anarchists gathered in Hannover for a spontaneous protest against police violence and repression on 13.12, the famous numeric version of ACAB. Police failed to arrive due to the demo being spontaneous, and many barricades were put up before protesters dispersed with no arrests occurring.
Thousands of protesters converged on Paris for the 4th week of demonstrations against the Global Security Law forbidding the filming of police. The state response was heavy-handed, with an immediate usage of water cannons and other crowd control munitions against protesters, leading to at least 10 arrests.
The Revolution Now protests continue through the 13th amid increased calls for police defunding/reform and the killings of a dozen protesters over the last days. Many protesters have been met with brutality, but none more have been killed since the 12th of October.
800 anarchists marched through downtown Hamburg to protest against fascism, capitalism, repression, and to demand immediate and free access to the vaccine for all residents of Germany, be they citizens, refugees, or undocumented migrants. They demand the free market not handle distribution and that rich people should not be the first to receive the vaccine.
