Around 200 protesters in Montreal gathered for a demonstration on the 25th international day against police brutality, demanding the abolition of the police and capitalism. Unlike previous years, no arrests occurred even in spite of a heavy police buildup in the area.

Over 100 protesters gathered in Montreal to demand the end of curfew during the pandemic, calling for a solution to the crisis not involving police. Many involved in the march made it clear that they were pro-science, pro-mask, and pro-vaccine, but that using police to raid people's homes and ensure that they were following quarantine is tyrannical.
About 50 abolitionists gathered at the minimum-security federal prison for men in Laval, Quebec, setting off fireworks, banging on pots and pans, and yelling chants in solidarity with those inside during the New Years' noise demo. Prisoners at the jail have been kept in isolation from months, with limited to no access to the gym or library and no visits from family.
