Protesters took to the streets on the 13th of October to push for the abolition of ICE and its subsidiaries, with many confrontations occurring between police, DHS, and protesters. About 25 people attended the protest, 7 of which were press.
Demonstrators nonviolently protested ICE outside of the Portland facility, with DHS coming out several times. A medic imitated Obama, mocking DHS and the Portland Police Bureau for their brutality. One protester was allowed through ICE gates, proving the suspicions of many Portlanders that the police were sending narcs in. Tear gas guns were also sighted being transported by the police, which had not been seen in deployment since early July, at the start of the George Floyd Uprising.
