Anarchists in the western Greek city of Agrinio (Agrinio-Acarnania Municipality) dropped a banner in solidarity with the imprisoned comrade Errol, a French anarchist deported from Greece on many set-up charges by the government, including terrorism and participation in outlawed groups.
Dozens of members of the Anarchist Political Organization gathered at the municipal doctor’s office of Kypseli, a neighborhood of Athens, to demand free food, housing, education, and healthcare for all. Protesters dropped a banner at the site and distributed leaflets in the area to avoid contact with police.
More than 1,000 protesters gathered in West Philadelphia for a protest, which, after clashes with police, quickly devolved into a riot, with teams of people looting Walmarts and the stores of other large corporations. Many cops were injured and were entirely pushed back from the city after the National Guard failed to arrive.
Protesters in Quito demonstrated against a deal between the government and the IMF, in which the Ecuador would earn a $6.5 billion credit, and to make sure it would be payed back, the sales tax would be increased from 12 to 15%. This sparked rioting in the capital, with police unable to suppress the tens of thousands who took to the streets.
