Dozens of Loyalist youth in Newtownabbey, north of Belfast, rioted against the creation of a customs process for goods being transported between Great Britain and North Ireland, which would disrupt the Loyalist drug trade. Cars were burned by the youth and petrol bombs were thrown at police as well, including an instance where one person set himself on fire.

Dozens of protesters marched in Alexandroupolis in opposition to police repression to universities, which has grappled the nation following a law passed by the Ministry of Education allowing police to re-enter universities for the first time since the fall of the military dictatorship decades ago.

Around 1500-2000 demonstrators in Thessaloniki took to the streets in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike, demanding the government accept his request to be returned to his old cell at the Korydallos prison in Athens where he will be able to see visitors again.
