Dozens of Loyalist youth in Newtownabbey, north of Belfast, rioted against the creation of a customs process for goods being transported between Great Britain and North Ireland, which would disrupt the Loyalist drug trade. Cars were burned by the youth and petrol bombs were thrown at police as well, including an instance where one person set himself on fire.

Dozens of protesters in the city of Antofagasta took to the streets on the Day of the Youth Combatant in Chile, where 2 young activist brothers were murdered by the military dictatorship in the 1980s. Police responded with brutal repression, tear-gassing residential areas as protesters responded with Molotov cocktails.
Around 600 protesters in Patras took to the streets demanding the repeal of a law passed by the Ministry of Education in Greece, which would allow police to re-enter universities for the first extended period since the fall of the military dictatorship following a disastrous war and student uprising in 1973-1974.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at the Dafni metro station in Athens and marched in opposition to police brutality and the government’s mismanagement of the COVID-pandemic, which has sought a policy of overfunding the police and military as cases in Greece continue to steadily increase.
