Anarchists in Athens dropped several banners outside of the Sotiria (Σωρητια) Hospital in Athens, in support of medical workers against a lack of supplies given to doctors and other workers in the medical field. The Greek government had been able to contain the first outbreak of coronavirus with moderate success but is failing to provide the resources necessary to deal with a resurgence of cases.

Around 15,000 protesters took to the streets of Asunción, the capital of Paraguay, to demand the resignation of the government after the collapse of the country’s healthcare system. Elective surgeries were already suspended by the Ministry of Health, and a shortage of medicine remains throughout the country. After police attacked the crowd, the Ministry of Finance was set on fire and widespread clashes began to occur across the city, prompting the resignation of the Minister of Health.
Around 200 protesters in Montreal gathered for a demonstration on the 25th international day against police brutality, demanding the abolition of the police and capitalism. Unlike previous years, no arrests occurred even in spite of a heavy police buildup in the area.
Dozens of protesters gathered at the Cerro Chena mountain in opposition to a proposed sports city at the site near the capital city of Santiago. Torture and disappearances had been known to occur on the mountain under the previous neoliberal dictatorship of Pinochet, and demonstrators demand that all human remains be removed before the sports city begins construction.
