Thousands of medical workers, public sector workers, and their allies marched on the National Congress in Valparaiso, demanding the readjustment of the budget for public officials and medical workers. The demonstration came within hours of Congress voting on the yearly budget for 2021.
Thousands of protesters in Bristol clashed with police during a Kill the Bill demonstration in opposition to the restriction of the right to protest and the increase of police powers in Great Britain. Several police vehicles were torched, the police station’s windows were smashed, and fireworks were shot at the scene.
Tens of thousands of youth and students marched to the State Secretariat of Kolkata, the capital of the State of West Bengal, to decry the policies of the state government and in support of more education and job opportunities for the youth. Around 100+ protesters in Portland gathered for a demonstration against the local ICE facility, setting fires and blocking the main doors to the facility to hamper the ability of law enforcement to be able to respond to the protest. Much of the front area was scorched, and graffiti was tagged all over the site.
