Philadelphia Uprising
More than 1,000 protesters gathered in West Philadelphia for a protest, which, after clashes with police, quickly devolved into a riot, with teams of people looting Walmarts and the stores of other large corporations. Many cops were injured and were entirely pushed back from the city after the National Guard failed to arrive.
Protesters took to the streets for a 134th day in Portland to demonstrate against the murder of Walter Wallace by police, and demanding a PPB budget cut of at least 50%. They demonstrated in front of a city commissioner's house, demanding that he endorse the defunding.
Protesters in New York clashed with police in solidarity with Philadelphia, vandalizing many police cars. Police appeared to be the main escalators of the night, breaking windows of cars that passed by, with some of them driving away straight into police lines.
Protesters rioted all across West Philadelphia after the police shooting of a mentally ill man earlier in the day, with over 30 police officers injured and 91 demonstrators arrested. Many areas in the city experienced heavy-handed clashes between protesters and riot police, with cars driving through crowds in some areas. Several police cruisers were captured and burnt.
