Greek anarchists in the University of Ioannina dropped banners against an anti-education bill sponsored by Minister of Education Niki Kerameos, also condemning police raids on university dormitories in Athens.
Protesters gathered in the dozens in Portland to demand justice for Tete Gulley, a black trans woman found hanging from a tree on 27 May 2019. Protesters listened to speeches before marching on 82nd Avenue, and then dispersing, with many prominent activists present in the demonstration including Demetria Hester.
Hundreds of protesters in Portland took to the streets on the anniversary of the George Floyd murder, gathering at the Justice Center in the city’s downtown. After police moved in and declared the demonstration unlawful, the crowd set fire to a dumpster and began to move around the city, breaking windows and writing graffiti.
A protest of several hundreds-thousands of demonstrators took place on Manhattan on the 10th of October, in solidarity with Armenia in the Nagorno-Karabakh war which temporarily resurged in late 2020. They mainly criticized Trump’s friendly policy towards Erdogan and his Azeri counterpart and called on him to cut sales to Turkey. Protesters temporarily occupied the Brooklyn Bridge in the city as well and left without clashing with police. Assyrians, Albanians, and Iranians were all seen at the protest alongside their Armenian counterparts.
