Protesters in Bologna gathered at the local Greek embassy in solidarity with former 17N member Dimitris Koufontinas, who is on hunger strike to demand a transfer to the Korydallos prison in Athens where he would get access to better medical care and the ability to see visitors.
Dozens of protesters marched in Heraklion in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike, moving throughout the city without incident, unlike the previous demonstration in which police had attacked the crowd, which fought back and forced law enforcement to retreat.
Thousands of farmers continued to gather at Ica, burning barricades in the Panamerican highway and effectively shutting down most travel in Peru. The cities of Parcona, San José de Los Molinos District, Santiago, Tate, and Pachacútec all had their access roads blocked, and Lima remained shut off from the rest of the country. Workers from the province of Pisco also went on strike, joining the Panamerican blockade in Ica.
