A crowd of 40 Loyalist youth gathered in Derry in opposition to customs being set up for travel of goods between mainland Great Britain and North Ireland, disrupting the Loyalist drug trade. The crowd threw a petrol bomb and other objects at police vehicles before dispersing without any arrests made.

Thousands of protesters in Athens marched in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike on International Women’s Day, demanding the immediate state acceptance of the former 17 November member’s demands to be returned to his old cell at the Korydallos prison in Athens.
Workers in the Tolpán Wind Farm (Parque Eolico Tolpán), of the Acciona enterprise, near Concepción, went on strike for better working conditions and demanding more frequent paychecks. They set up barricades on the road, joining the general strike that began in the country.
Thousands of protesters converged on al-Haboubi Square in Nasiriyah, to protest against the Iraqi government’s repression of anti-corruption activists and the implementation of a curfew in several cities. Riot police then opened fire on the protesters, and, bizarrely, the Iraqi military began exchanging gunfire with riot police, resulting in at least 1 death on each side.
Anarchists in Berlin launched an arson attack in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike against a van belonging to the Hertz company, which has worked with the Greek police in recent months and supplied them with vehicles.
