Anarchists in Thessaloniki gathered in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas, a former member of the Greek communist 17 November group who entered a hunger strike on the 8th of January to demand his transfer to the Korydallos prison in Athens where he would receive better medical care and access to visitors.
SARS, SWAT, the police, and the military all over Nigeria began a campaign of brutality against protesters on the 19th, killing several all across the country and allowing pro-SARS militants to roam free and brutalize demonstrators. Anonymous’ attacks continue to ramp up, despite being overshadowed by the attacks on protesters.
Around 30 protesters gathered in Orlando in solidarity with Angelo Crooms and Sincere Pierce, two 16 and 18-year-olds shot to death by police last Friday. The family had organized a large rally on the 18th with a turnout of over 200, and expects to sustain these protests in order to provide pressure against the Brevard County Sheriffs’ Office.
About 40 protesters gathered in front of the Trump International Hotel in New York City against the violence in Washington and the attempted insurrection by Trump supporters. Demonstrators held letters spelling “TRUMP IS GUILTY”, demanding his resignation; police then attacked the protest, making several arrests against the completely peaceful crowd in a seemingly harsher crackdown than against the insurrectionaries at the Capitol.
