Anarchists in Thessaloniki gathered in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas, a former member of the Greek communist 17 November group who entered a hunger strike on the 8th of January to demand his transfer to the Korydallos prison in Athens where he would receive better medical care and access to visitors.

2500 protesters marched in Patras against the reintroduction of police to universities in a bill proposed by Greek Minister of Education Niki Kerameos, demanding the retraction of the law put forward by the leading conservative New Democracy Party.
The Notimex Workers’ Union in Mexico City entered the 307th day of the strike that began with allegations of labor terrorism, human rights violations, contempt of workers’ rights laws, and, eventually, exposures of workers to COVID-19. Strikers stated their willingness to negotiate with the corporation, but have not received any word back.

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Portland as part of a demonstration on International Workers’ Day, demanding the abolition of ICE, an agency dedicated to the deportation of undocumented migrants. Demonstrators reassembled in the night, breaking several windows of large corporate stores and other buildings.
