Chilean Police Attack Protesters in Puente Alto Demanding Release of Political Prisoners

Dozens of protesters marched in the southern Santiago borough of Puente Alto to demand the release of all political prisoners of the 18th of October Uprising, many of whom have been kept in jail for over a year without the ability to see their loved ones due to quarantine. Carabineros deployed water cannons on the peaceful demonstration, shooting chemically tainted water directly at protesters who would go on to suffer burns.
