Protesters in Enugu torched their local seat of government, hours before a military lockdown was enforced on the state. No protesters were killed, although many were injured while breaking through police lines.

Dozens of Turkish anarchists gathered in Kadıköy to protest on the anniversary of the 19 December massacre, better known as Operation “Return to Life”. The protesters were attacked by Turkish police, with 10 arrests made. Prisoners were protesting the government plan to transfer prisoners to American-style “F-type” cells holding 1-3 occupants, in response to which 10,000 soldiers violently occupied 48 prisons to end 2 months of hunger strikes by hundreds of political prisoners. At least 31 prisoners were murdered by the Turkish government, 8 others were disappeared, and 426 prisoners were wounded. 1005 prisoners were then caged in the F-type cells.
Residents of the autonomous and self-managed Prosfygika squat in central Athens dropped a banner in solidarity with N17 hunger striker Dimitris Koufontina, calling for the immediate acceptance of his demands to be moved to a prison with less security in Athens.
Dozens of protesters in the Bonilla area of Antofagasta returned to the streets for a 2nd consecutive day, demanding amnesty for all political prisoners of the 18th of October Uprising.
