Protesters occupied River Street, before marching to the ICE facility and returning, only to find heavily militarized cops in riot gear waiting for them.
Thousands of partygoers gathered in Huntington Beach, in Los Angeles, after organizing online, dubbing the event ‘Adrian’s Kickback’. Participants blocked roads and threw fireworks at police vehicles, with many jumping on and damaging police cruisers. Over 150 people were arrested, charged with a wide variety of offenses.
Dozens of protesters in Kansas City marched on the house of Judge Stockdale, condemning the judge’s recent violations of COVID eviction moratoriums in place, carrying out evictions during a pandemic, with one incident even resulting in a police shooting.
Hundreds of protesters returned to Parliament Square in London to demand the nullification of a bill debated in the House of Commons and later passed, which would restrict the right to protest, raising jail sentences and increasing police powers. Demonstrators were assaulted by police, who made several arrests.
A teachers’ union in Paris marched in solidarity with high school students who had occupied their campuses in the morning, to demand better health measures and protocols to be put in place. Students clashed with police at several schools, with more than a dozen arrests occurring.
