Anarchists at University of Ioannina Drop Banners Against Reintroduction of Police in Greek Universities

Student anarchists in the University of Ioannina dropped giant banners in front of campus, in condemnation of the new leading government of Greece attempting to reinstall police into tertiary schools/universities.

Demands of the Autonomous Assembly of the University of Ioannina

  • Cops away from schools, homes, and dormitories
  • To react collectively to the terrorism of Education Minister Niki Kerameos and Citizens’ Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis
  • Against further crackdowns and discipline on education
  • To finish the year with online learning rather than in-person education
  • Against the state management of the pandemic, allow for autonomous response with the aid of the ΕΣΥ (National Statistical Service)
  • Open universities after this semester with all necessary sanitary measures to keep both educators and students safe
  • Increase of MMM (Personal Protective Equipment)
