Over 10000 protesters in Berlin gathered in Neukölln, demanding an immediate reversal to the overturning of a court ruling abolishing the Mietendeckel, a rent cap set to stop high prices and gentrification in the city. Police assaulted several demonstrators but were overpowered by the crowd and forced to retreat in due time.

An Abolish Homelessness demonstration was held at ~3:00 P.M. in New York, around 53rd St. and 7th Ave. The goals of the protesters were to house the homeless with the empty hotels that exist all around the city, with no guests amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 11 protesters were arrested inside of the Sheraton hotel, and are expected to be released later.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at 36th & Cedar in Minneapolis for a vigil in remembrance of Dolal Idd, a 23-year-old son of Somali immigrants murdered by police the night before. Neighbors went outside to cheer on the demonstrators, who marched around the block after listening to speeches given out.
Dozens of protesters gathered at the Bergen County Jail on Christmas Day, in solidarity with ICE detainees at the prison in New Jersey. Demonstrators made noise to let the detainees know of their presence and were promptly threatened with arrest by police for standing too close to the perimeter.
