Chileans took to the streets on the 18th, clashing with police all over Santiago and other cities as an anniversary of the 2019 uprising that led to the reformation of the constitution under President Piñera.
Women demonstrated in Diyarbakir after the murder of Melek Aslan, murdered by her brother, whose case anarchists and other activists say will not be received with a fair trial. After the protest, the government stated that they will look further into the case and make the prosecution stronger.
Hundreds of cyclists participated in a “ciclomarcha” or bicycle march for the resignation of right-wing President Sebastian Piñera, amnesty for all political prisoners of the 18th of October Uprising, and a more heavy-handed response to COVID by the state.
SARS, SWAT, the police, and the military all over Nigeria began a campaign of brutality against protesters on the 19th, killing several all across the country and allowing pro-SARS militants to roam free and brutalize demonstrators. Anonymous’ attacks continue to ramp up, despite being overshadowed by the attacks on protesters.
About 50 Black bloc protesters in Washington D.C. gathered to demonstrate against police brutality in the city, calling for the abolition of the DCPD. The police department has recently received much criticism for their handling of the murder of 18-year-old Deon Kay, upon which there was a lack of investigation.
