Chileans took to the streets on the 18th, clashing with police all over Santiago and other cities as an anniversary of the 2019 uprising that led to the reformation of the constitution under President Piñera.
Around 100 protesters in York marched in opposition to a bill debated and later passed in the English House of Commons, which would expand police powers in the United Kingdom and also restrict protests, with a cap on noisemaking and extended prison time for arrests at demonstrations.
Thousands of protesters in Athens returned to the streets for a second consecutive day in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike. Demonstrators first routed police out of Syntagma Square, then gathering in front of Parliament and marching down to Omonia Square before dispersing for the night.
Around 750 protesters marched in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike in Thessaloniki, demanding the immediate Greek government satisfaction of the former 17 November member’s request to be returned to his old cell at the Korydallos prison.
Dozens of students at the National Pedagogical University in Bogota took to the streets to demand a return to campus for students and free tuition for all to be provided by the government. Demonstrators dropped banners and blocked roads to cause as much disruption as possible, also flying anarchist flags.
