The RAPP (Release Aging People in Prison) campaign demonstrated outside of the governor’s office, demanding the release of Arthur Green, a 70-year-old man who has been in prison for 44 years. He is currently dying of end-stage renal failure in prison hospice, and protesters call it inhuman to keep him away from his family during his last days.
Dozens of protesters in New York marched through the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan to call for an end to ICE and kids in cages, demanding the immediate abolition of the 21st-century anti-immigration agency that continues to put children in overcrowded and unsanitary camps with very little access to basic services.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at 36th & Cedar in Minneapolis for a vigil in remembrance of Dolal Idd, a 23-year-old son of Somali immigrants murdered by police the night before. Neighbors went outside to cheer on the demonstrators, who marched around the block after listening to speeches given out.
