Greece is a country with an extremely long history of protest movements, and a general hatred for police and authorities originating from the military dictatorship that lasted from 1967-1974. The Athens Polytechnic University Uprising occurred in November 17, 1973, and ended with the dictatorship sending in the military with tanks, and killed 24 people.
