About 40 protesters gathered in front of the Trump International Hotel in New York City against the violence in Washington and the attempted insurrection by Trump supporters. Demonstrators held letters spelling “TRUMP IS GUILTY”, demanding his resignation; police then attacked the protest, making several arrests against the completely peaceful crowd in a seemingly harsher crackdown than against the insurrectionaries at the Capitol.
A black bloc protest was organized in Santa Rosa, in which hundreds of people marched through the highway, and confronted police but ultimately did not clash with them. Law enforcement blocked off the intersection so that the march would not be able to continue.
Dozens of antifascists returned to the streets of Sacramento to combat the weekly Stop the Steal rally attended by Proud Boys, marching as well in support of the Indian Farmers’ Protest solidarity event going on at the same time. Several clashes broke out, with pepper spray being used and a shield wall being formed.
