Hundreds of protesters returned to the streets of Tripoli to demand an increase in living conditions and a stimulus from the Lebanese government, as a 3-week quarantine was put in place to be enforced by the army without any welfare packages provided. Police then arrived at the scene, attacking and tear-gassing protesters and causing at least 15 injuries.
Dozens of protesters marched in the northeastern city of Drama against police brutality, seen recently across Greece after a college student was beaten in a park and a university was invaded by plainclothes officers who took 33 people into custody.
Running battles continued in the northeastern French city of Tourcoing after a police operation resulted in the seizure of motorcycles used for urban derbies. Youths and police kept a constant exchange of fireworks and tear gas as engagements moved throughout the city, also resulting in several dumpsters catching fire.
Anarchist protesters in Antofagasta took to the streets, banging pots and pans and blocking roads with flaming barricades in opposition to the continued imprisonment of participants of the 18th of October Uprising in 2019 and the struggle for indigenous Mapuche land rights in Chile.
