After the 100,000-strong morning march, a later protest took place with about 10,000 people that was suppressed by Belarusian police using tear gas and close-proximity stun grenades, which had not been frequently observed before. Few people were arrested, although many injuries were documented, the most common being hearing loss.

Dozens of protesters in Antofagasta took to the streets demanding the resignation of president Sebastian Piñera, famous for exacerbating disastrous neoliberal policies in Chile. Demonstrators also called for the abolition of the country’s national police force, the Carabineros, long marred by accusations of human rights abuses.
