Around 50 protesters in New York City shut down the Brooklyn Bridge during a march to Foley Square in Manhattan to denounce numerous incidents of New York Police Department violence and intimidation against protesters, including extremely heavy buildups in previous incidents.

The 31 day-long strike continues at the Total-owned Grandpuits oil refinery, in which 700 jobs are threatened of being removed by Total under the excuse of fighting climate change. These company claims have been challenged by the construction of a 1500km-long pipeline in Uganda, which has been accused of being built under terrible human right conditions.
Hundreds of protesters in Thessaloniki marched in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas, a former member of the 17 November urban guerilla in Greece. He entered a hunger strike on the 8th of January to demand his transfer to the Korydallos prison, where he would once again be able to see his family as visitors.
Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Encarnación, the 3rd-largest city in all of Paraguay, demanding the government’s resignation after the collapse of the healthcare system, with medicine at a critically low level and elective surgeries stopped altogether. Demonstrators gathered at the Plaza de Armas in the Colorado District, burning barricades and singing chants against the standing regime.
Dozens of protesters returned to the streets of Kenosha after it was decided that the police who shot Jacob Blake would not be charged with any crime, prompting hundreds of members of the National Guard to arrive on the scene. The march stayed peaceful the entire time, with Blake’s father, Justin, leading it for the majority of the protest.
