Carabineros cracked down on protesters in Santiago, attacking independent journalists and arresting a minor for carrying a Mapuche flag while the demonstration had not even yet begun. Chemical water cannons were deployed as well as tear gas that left scars and burns on dozens of protesters.
Protesters across New York dropped banners for a wide variety of reasons, including rent cancellation, a 2nd stimulus, and the freeing of all prisoners of ICE held in cages in the city’s detention facility.
