Thousands of Paraguayans in Asunción Return to the Streets Against Healthcare Collapse

Thousands of protesters in Asunción returned to the streets for a 2nd consecutive day to demand the resignation of the President after the collapse of Paraguay’s healthcare system, with elective surgeries such as appendix removal shut down altogether and medicine at a critically low supply. Demonstrators first marched to the National Congress and then the palace of the president, clashing with police and singing chants against corruption.
