Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Medellín for a 4th consecutive day, as part of a general strike in Colombia opposing new tax hikes on basic goods and services as well as the privatization of healthcare. Police attacked the demonstrations, which occurred citywide, with tear gas and live rounds.

Riots took place in the Polish town of Lubin after a police officer murdered a young man under arrest, asphyxiating him by placing a knee on his neck. Hundreds arrived at the local police station, chanting “Murderers!” and hurling rocks and Molotov cocktails at riot police. At the end of the day, more than 50 arrests were made by riot police.
