Thousands of protesters marched in Yangon on the 6th day of civil disobedience in opposition to the military coup in Myanmar, demanding the restoration of civilian rule to the Southeast Asian country marred by a dictatorship led by the armed forces that lasted for decades until the early 2010s.
Protesters in Temuco placed barricades in solidarity with Matias Catrileo, a young Mapuche warrior/weychafe murdered by police on January 3rd, 2008, during territorial clashes between the ethnic group and the government.
Dozens of Greek anarchists participated in a motorcade in Athens in solidarity with political prisoner Dimitris Koufontinas, a former member of November 17 on a current hunger strike demanding a transfer to a more humane prison.
An Abolish Homelessness demonstration was held at ~3:00 P.M. in New York, around 53rd St. and 7th Ave. The goals of the protesters were to house the homeless with the empty hotels that exist all around the city, with no guests amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 11 protesters were arrested inside of the Sheraton hotel, and are expected to be released later.
Protesters in Nigeria destroyed and looted the residences of Gershom Bassey in Calabar, and Teslim Kolawole Folarin’s in Ibadan. Dozens of motorbikes were found in Folarin’s house, and lots of hoarded resources were found in Bassey’s, eagerly taken by deprived residents of their cities.
