Thousands of protesters marched in Yangon on the 6th day of civil disobedience in opposition to the military coup in Myanmar, demanding the restoration of civilian rule to the Southeast Asian country marred by a dictatorship led by the armed forces that lasted for decades until the early 2010s.

Hundreds of members of the FENATS medical workers’ union protested in the central city of Concepción to demand a higher budget for the health sector to combat COVID-19, including more infrastructure and raises for on-the-ground nurses and doctors. Many in the crowd also called for amnesty for political prisoners and the resignation of Piñera.
