Around 5,000 demonstrators marched in Girona and clashed with riot police to demand the release of Pablo Hasel, a Catalan rapper arrested for criticizing the Spanish monarchy. Youths smashed windows and placed barricades, throwing rocks at police who in response shot tear gas at the crowd.

Protests Continue All Over Chile
Protests continue across the country, with several communes rising up against their local police and military forces. Dozens of people were injured, although government forces were beaten back in several areas. A factory was burned down in Renca, and clashes between police and protesters ensued.
Around 300 protesters in Frankfurt marched after a 19-year-old Iraqi refugee died in a hospital after being arrested for possession of marijuana. While in custody, Qosay Sadam Khalaf “collapsed” in his cell and was taken to a hospital, where he ended up dying. Police attacked the demonstration, kicking and punching protesters without provocation.
Around 300 antifascists in Berlin took to the streets against skepticism of COVID-19 and fascist conspiracies claiming that the virus was created by a global elite, marching through the borough of Kollwitzkiez, slightly northeast of the city’s heart. Although a heavy police presence existed there, no arrests or confrontations took place.
