Dozens in Thessaloniki gathered to oppose the Greek government’s ban on protests, stating that the science shows that demonstrations do not cause an increase in coronavirus cases and simply exacerbate the extent of police repression.

Hundreds of students at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki resisted a police crackdown on the rectorate’s occupation and marched against state repression, broadcasted many times following the previous invasion of the university in which dozens of arrests occurred.
Dozens of protesters marched in Kenosha the night before it was decided whether or not Jacob Blake’s shooters would be charged or not, in a protest led by the man’s father. Demonstrators demanded charges to honor Blake, who had been left permanently paralyzed after the shooting that caused mass riots and looting in the Wisconsin city.
Around 50 protesters gathered in Thessaloniki in solidarity with the hunger strike of former N17 member Dimitris Koufontinas, which began on the 8th of January to demand a transfer to the Korydallos prison in Athens that would provide adequate medical care and the ability to see visitors.
