Tens of thousands of protesters in Bogota took to the streets in opposition to neoliberalism and an increase in taxes on basic goods and services in Colombia. Police brutally assaulted demonstrators, shooting tear gas directly at the crowd and savagely beating peaceful protesters.
Police assaulted hundreds of cyclists in Santiago, who were participating in a protest bike ride along the Alameda to demand amnesty for all political prisoners. Carabineros in response to the peaceful demonstration deployed tear gas and water cannons against the crowd.
Anarchists in Patras hung 2 banners in a southern park and the pedestrian street of Gerokostopoulo in solidarity with inmates stuck in prisons experiencing the brutality of being in the captivity of the state in the midst of a pandemic. Demonstrators also expressed solidarity with 2 anarchists arrested in Athens during a protest outside the office of the general secretary.
